About SCDC New Inmate Classification System SCDC is changing the way it classifies inmates, which determines where an inmate is housed. The new system places a high value on behavior and is based on points, which determine the inmate’s custody level. SCDC began implementation of the new inmate classification system in February 2020.

SCDC is raising the salary for security officers across the board. Starting correctional officers can now earn between $39,140 and $48,925 their first year, plus a $7,500 sign-on bonus and the ability to earn overtime. Job Opportunities Thank you to the S.C. Select “Classification Application” from the Intranet Secured Login. 2. Enter SCDC # or Inmate Name and enter. 3. Select “ +” to begin assessment. 4. Select SCDC Initial Classification Version and “add”. The SCDC Reclassification Version will be used at the annual review or if a significant change occurs to the inmate’s status.
